Keyboard shortcuts

A reference of the main keyboard shortcuts available in SeqLens.

Cmd refers to macOS, and Ctrl refers to Windows / Linux. When Lens or a layer row has focus, the same key may perform a different action.

Global (available anywhere)

Basic actions available from any screen.

Shortcut Action
Cmd/Ctrl+O Open Project… - open the project selection dialog
Cmd/Ctrl+W Close Project - close the current project when one is open
Cmd/Ctrl+R Rescan - rescan the project
Cmd/Ctrl+F Focus Search - focus the search box
Cmd/Ctrl+E Reveal in Finder / Reveal in Explorer - open the selected sequence directory when exactly one sequence is selected; otherwise open the project root in Finder / Explorer
Cmd/Ctrl+K / Cmd/Ctrl+Space / Shift+C Command Palette… - search commands, recent projects, and sequences
Cmd/Ctrl+, Preferences… - open settings
F1 Website - open https://seqlens.app in the default browser
F5 Rescan - rescan the project
F11 Toggle full screen display

Sequence mode (sequence table focused)

Shortcut Action
Cmd/Ctrl+A Select all sequences after filtering
Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+A Clear selection
Space Close Lens if it is open / if it is closed and there is a selection, launch Inspect in Lens for one selection or Compare in Lens for multiple selections
Esc Clear selection
Row navigation (extend range with Shift+)
Move to the previous or next frame when Lens is open
Page Up/Page Down Same as above (extend range with Shift+)
Home/End Move to the first / last sequence
Enter When exactly one item is selected, open the first frame in the OS-associated app
Delete / Backspace Open the Delete Selection Permanently… confirmation dialog for the selected sequences

Layer mode (expanded EXR layer row focused)

Shortcut Action
Cmd/Ctrl+A Select the layers in the current sequence
Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+A Clear selection
Space Close Lens if it is open / if it is closed and there is a selection, launch Inspect in Lens for one selection or Compare in Lens for multiple selections
Esc Return selection to the parent sequence row and switch to sequence mode
Navigate within the layer grid (extend range with Shift+). Switching past the parent sequence row outside the grid changes to sequence mode
Page Up/Page Down Move rows at the parent (sequence) level and switch to sequence mode
Home/End Move to the first / last layer in the grid
Delete / Backspace Open the Delete Selection Permanently… confirmation dialog for the target sequence (layer selection is consolidated to the sequence)

Frame mode (focus inside Lens)

Available when Lens is open and focus is inside it.

Cmd/Ctrl+A Select all frames in Lens
Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+A Clear frame selection
Space / Esc Close Lens
Move to the previous or next frame
Move one row up or down in the frame grid
Page Up/Page Down Move between sequences and synchronize with selection in the sequence table

These shortcuts are assigned to the macOS application menu. On Windows / Linux, the in-window title-bar menu is used, so this section refers to shortcuts from the macOS menu.
