This privacy policy (“Policy”) describes the types of information we collect, the purposes for which it is used, and how it is managed through the Software and our official website (https://seqlens.app, hereinafter “the Website”). By using the Software or the Website, you agree to the terms of this Policy.

About Translations

While the Software and Website are available in multiple languages, the original and legally binding version of this Policy is the Japanese version. Other language versions are provided for reference only. In case of any discrepancies, the Japanese version shall prevail.

Information Collected and Purpose of Use

We collect and use information for the following purposes.

Inquiry Handling

  • Information Collected: Name, email address, inquiry content, and any related attachments.
  • Purpose: Responding to inquiries, providing user support, and analyzing data to improve our services.

Account and Authentication

When you use the account features of the Software or the Website, we collect the following information.

  • Information Collected: Email address, display name, avatar image URL, OAuth provider name (such as Google) and the corresponding provider-side user identifier, and account creation/update timestamps.
  • Purpose: Account creation and identity verification, maintaining sign-in state, and providing features restricted to authenticated users (such as license management and support).

License Management

We operate a proprietary license management API to deliver paid features of the Software.

  • Information Collected:
    • User identifier (the user ID linked to the account), tenant information, and the contractual concurrent-device limit.
    • Association with Stripe customer ID and subscription ID.
    • Device identifier (a per-install device-unique ID), hostname, OS name and version, architecture, locale, and application version.
    • Timestamps and counters related to license issuance, verification, and device activity (active days and usage counts).
    • Source IP address of API requests (processed as transient log data).
  • Purpose: Issuing and verifying licenses, preventing fraudulent use and concurrent-device overrun, supporting user inquiries, and ensuring stable operation and improvement of the service.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use the following third-party tools to collect information necessary for improving our services and identifying issues.

Vercel Analytics

  • Information Collected: Page view history, referrer URLs, browser/OS information, access regions (with anonymized IP addresses), and counts of key user actions such as downloads and purchase-flow entries.

Please refer to Vercel’s privacy policy for more details.

Sentry

  • Information Collected: Technical data captured when application errors occur (stack traces, browser, OS, application version, and similar).
  • Purpose: Identifying and fixing bugs, improving application stability.

Please refer to Sentry’s privacy policy for more details.

Use of Cookies

We use cookies only for the following limited purposes:

  • Managing sessions and signin status.

Handling of Payment Information

Paid services in the Software and on the Website are handled through an external payment provider, Stripe, Inc.

Credit card numbers, expiration dates, security codes, and similar payment information are entered directly into Stripe’s payment page and transmitted to Stripe without passing through our servers. We do not retain this information.

We receive only minimal transaction metadata from Stripe — such as payment status, transaction ID, purchased plan, and customer ID — and associate it with the corresponding license record.

Please refer to Stripe’s privacy policy for more details.
